Passive skill tattoos were a new feature that was added to Path of Exile in the Trial of the Ancestors league. They allow players to replace small passive skill nodes with powerful effects, such as increased maximum life, mana, or energy shield, or even new keystones.

In a recent update, Grinding Gear Games announced that they are adding several new passive skill tattoos to the game. These new tattoos include:

· Journey tattoo of the Mind: Replaces two dexterity notables on the passive skill tree with 30 to maximum mana per allocated tattoo.

· Journey tattoo of Soul: Replaces two intelligence notables on the passive skill tree with 40 to maximum energy shield per allocated tattoo.

· Journey tattoo of the Body: Replaces two strength notables on the passive skill tree with 25 to maximum life per allocated tattoo.

· Honor tattoo of the Makanga: Replaces a small attribute notable on the passive skill tree with plus one to the level of all skill gems.

· Ancestral tattoo of Bloodlines: Replaces a small passive skill node on the passive skill tree with a 2% increased recovery rate of life, mana, and energy shield per tribe where you have an allocated tattoo.

· Journey tattoo of the Makanui: Grants a random keystone.

These new tattoos offer some very powerful effects, and they are sure to change the way that players build their characters. For example, the Honor tattoo of the Makanga is essentially a free plus one to all skill gems, which is a huge boost for any build. The Ancestral tattoo of Bloodlines is also very powerful, as it can provide a significant increase in the recovery rate.

The Journey tattoo of the Makanui is a bit more of a wildcard, as it grants a random keystone. However, even if you don't get the keystone that you want, it is still a powerful tattoo, as it can provide a variety of different effects, such as increased damage, increased survivability, or even new mechanics.

Grinding Gear Games has not yet announced when these new tattoos will be added to the game, but they are expected to be available in the next major update.

Impact on Buildmaking

The addition of these new passive skill tattoos is sure to have a significant impact on buildmaking in Path of Exile. Many of these tattoos offer very powerful effects, and they will give players more options when building their characters.

For example, the Journey tattoo of the Mind and the Journey tattoo of Soul will be very popular for builds that rely heavily on mana or energy shields. The Journey tattoo of the Body will be popular for builds that need more survivability. The Honor tattoo of the Makanga will be popular for any build, as it is essentially a free plus one to all skill gems.

The Ancestral tattoo of Bloodlines will be popular for builds that rely on recovery rate to stay alive. The Journey tattoo of the Makanui is a bit more of a wildcard, but it still has the potential to be very powerful for certain builds.

Overall, the addition of these new passive skill tattoos is a positive change for Path of Exile. They will give players more options when building their characters and will make the game more diverse.

Tips for Farming Passive Skill Tattoos

If you are interested in farming passive skill tattoos, there are a few things you can do to increase your chances of finding them:

· Focus on running the highest level Tribal Trials that you can. Higher level Tribal Trials have a higher chance of dropping passive skill tattoos.

· Use the Scarab of the Offering to increase the chance of rare items dropping from Tribal Trials.

· Join a party with other players who are also farming passive skill tattoos. This will give you more chances of finding the tattoos that you need.

It is important to note that passive skill tattoos are relatively rare, so it is important to be patient. However, if you are persistent, you will eventually be able to farm up the tattoos that you need for your build.
