Elden Ring DLC Faith Build: Flame Art Destruction

Nov 02, 2024, 09:58:17 PST | Categories : Elden Ring |

Today, we're diving into a fiery invasion build, focused entirely on Faith and Flame Art weapons. If you love watching your enemies burn, this is the build for you. The recent DLC has blessed flame-based builds with significant buffs, making fire damage stronger than ever before. In this guide, I’ll show you how to harness the power of flames in PvP with a Faith build that’s sure to turn the battlefield into a blazing inferno.

The Fire and Flames: DLC Buffs

The Elden Ring DLC introduced a variety of enhancements to fire-based builds, giving us new tools and buffs to maximize fire damage. One of the standout additions is the Oil-Soaked Tear, which coats nearby enemies in oil. When oiled enemies are struck with fire-based attacks, the damage is significantly amplified. Combine this with the Flame-Shrouding Cracked Tear in your Wondrous Physick, and you're looking at insane fire damage boosts. The Flame-Shrouding Tear increases all fire damage, further enhancing your ability to dish out fiery destruction.

Another essential addition is the Talisman of Dread, which boosts lava-based incantations and sorceries by 15%. Pair that with The Shard of Alexander, and you’ll be dishing out tremendous damage with fire-based Ashes of War, especially when using the Taker’s Flame Ash of War on the Blasphemous Blade.

Weapons of Choice: Flame Art Powerhouses

When it comes to weapons, anything that can be infused with Flame Art and scales well with Faith is a top choice. For this build, you’ll want to look for weapons with high fire damage potential. One of my favorites for invasions is the Fire Knight Greatsword, which hits hard and scales excellently with Faith, making it a fantastic pick for both PvP and PvE.

Another standout weapon is the Blasphemous Blade, which excels in both raw fire damage and its unique ability to heal you upon killing enemies. The Taker's Flame skill on this weapon unleashes a fiery shockwave, dealing immense AoE damage and restoring health, making it a formidable tool for both invasions and boss fights. With the DLC’s new buffs and the talismans mentioned earlier, the Blasphemous Blade becomes an even more deadly choice.

For those long-range threats or for dealing with mounted enemies in Seamless Co-Op, consider using the Fire Coil. This weapon art tracks exceptionally well and is perfect for punishing players who attempt to escape on horseback. Fire Coil is a strong counter against those who love to hit-and-run or kite in open areas.

The Build Breakdown: Stats and Setup

Now, let’s break down the build. The focus is on Faith, with minimal investments in Strength and Dexterity to meet weapon requirements. Here’s how my stats look:

· Faith: This is your main stat, as it scales your fire damage and boosts the effectiveness of your Flame Art-infused weapons and incantations.

· Strength/Dexterity: These should be kept to the minimum required to wield your preferred weapons.

· Vigor and Endurance: You’ll need a healthy amount of both to survive invasions. Higher vigor means you can tank hits, and endurance lets you maintain your mobility and keep up the pressure.

Here are the key items you’ll want for this build:

1. Blasphemous Blade – For heavy fire damage and healing with its Ash of War, Taker’s Flame.

2. Fire Knight Greatsword – A great option for pure Flame Art damage with good reach.

3. Talisman of Dread – Boosts your lava-based incantations and fire sorceries by 15%.

4. Shard of Alexander – Increases the power of your weapon skills, perfect for enhancing the damage output of Taker’s Flame.

5. Flame-Shrouding Cracked Tear – Enhances all fire damage when mixed in your Wondrous Physick.

6. Oil-Soaked Tear – Makes your enemies vulnerable to fire for increased damage output.

7. Fire Coil – For long-range attacks and tracking down enemies, especially on horseback.

PvP Invasions: The Art of Turn and Burn

One of the best aspects of Elden Ring is its PvP, and this build excels at invasions. The key to success with this Faith/Flame Art build is timing and positioning. When you invade a group, start by applying the Oil-Soaked Tear to coat enemies in oil, then follow up with a devastating fire attack—whether it's a flame spell or a weapon skill like Taker’s Flame.

During one of my invasions, I was ambushed by a group of three players. With the oil applied and my Flame-Shrouding Cracked Tear active, my fire attacks were hitting like a truck. I used the Blasphemous Blade to not only deal damage but also to heal myself as I defeated their summoned spirits. The Turn and Burn strategy with this build is extremely effective—set up your enemies with oil, then blast them with fire before they have a chance to react.

Spirit Summons and Utility

One of the standout moments during my invasions was when I summoned my Mimic Tear. Not only does it provide an extra body on the field, but its ability to mimic your Elden Ring Items and moves makes it an invaluable asset. I’ve had plenty of moments where my Mimic Tear clutched a win by distracting enemies or healing me at just the right moment. There was one particularly intense fight where my Mimic saved me from being overwhelmed by a horde of summoned spirits, buying me enough time to heal and launch a counterattack.

The Mimic Tear works well with this build because it can take advantage of the same buffs and talismans, making it a miniature version of your character. It's like having another version of yourself on the battlefield, and in a game where spacing and timing are everything, that’s a huge advantage.

Final Thoughts: Adaptability and Fun

This Flame Art Faith build is one of the most fun and versatile builds I’ve ever used in Elden Ring, especially in PvP. The combination of Blasphemous Blade, Fire Knight Greatsword, and the various fire-infused weapons makes it extremely adaptable to different scenarios. Whether you're up against mounted enemies, large groups, or tough bosses, this build has the tools to handle it all.

Invading with this build in Seamless Co-op is a blast—literally. The extended fights and higher HP pools make for longer, more tactical engagements, allowing you to really experiment with your weapons and skills. If you love fire damage and want to dominate the battlefield with flaming destruction, give this build a try.
