The Ultimate Poison Build in Elden Ring: Poison Flower Blooms Twice

Jul 02, 2024, 09:26:17 PST | Categories : Elden Ring |

Today, I bring to you a build that has skyrocketed in my personal rankings thanks to its versatility and raw power. Say hello to my latest creation: a triple-status build centered around the amazing new Ash of War from the Shadow of the Erdtree DLCPoison Flower Blooms Twice.

The Ash of War: Poison Flower Blooms Twice

This Ash of War is an upgraded version of the base game's Poison Moth Flight, which was fun but lacked the impact to compete with the best. Poison Flower Blooms Twice not only corrects this but elevates it to an entirely new level. This Ash of War is easy to use, hits hard, provides hyper armor, covers a massive distance, and looks fantastic while doing it.

The ability creates a needle of rot from your foot when you leap into the air and then slams it down on your enemy, dealing significant damage and applying Scarlet Rot. This attack is considered a kick, meaning it can be boosted by various Elden Ring items designed to enhance kicking attacks.

The Build Concept

The essence of this build is simple yet devastating: apply poison or rot to your enemies and then detonate it with a powerful kick using Poison Flower Blooms Twice. This results in massive damage output, especially when enemies are already afflicted by poison or rot.

Weapon Choice and Affinity

For this build, I've chosen the Venomous Fang with the Poison Flower Blooms Twice Ash of War set to Blood. This setup provides a potent combination of poison and bleed damage, allowing for quick application of both statuses.

However, the beauty of this Ash of War lies in its flexibility. You can use it with any weapon that suits your playstyle. The key is to have a fast-hitting weapon in your right hand, infused with poison, to maximize the build's effectiveness.

Stats Allocation

For this build, I recommend the following stat distribution at level 150:

    • Vigor: 60

    • Mind: 15 (can be adjusted based on personal FP needs)

    • Endurance: Enough to medium roll with your equipment

    • Strength: Minimum required for your weapon of choice

    • Dexterity: Minimum required for your weapon of choice

    • Faith: 25 (for buffs)

    • Arcane: 60 (to scale poison and bleed application)

Equipment

Primary Weapon: Venomous Fang with Poison Flower Blooms Twice Ash of War (set to Blood).

Off-Hand: The Poisoned Hand. This item boosts your damage when the poison is applied, similar to the Madness damage-amping combo.

Seal: Any zero-weight seal for buffing, such as the Frenzied Flame Seal.

Armor:

    • Head: Mushroom Crown (boosts damage when poison or rot is nearby).

    • Chest: Divine Bird Warrior Armor (or RX Shash Armor for optimal damage).

    • Gloves: Divine Bird Warrior Gloves.

    • Legs: Divine Bird Warrior Greaves (boosts kick attacks).

Talismans:

    • Radagon's Scarseal: Boosts various stats.

    • Kindred of Rot's Exultation: Increases attack power when poisoning or rot occurs nearby.

    • Lord of Blood's Exultation: Increases attack power when blood loss occurs nearby.

    • Shattered Stone Talisman: Enhances kick attacks.

Wondrous Physick:

    • Thorny Cracked Tear: Boosts consecutive attack power.

    • Opaline Hardtear: Provides additional defense.

Buffs and Incantations

To maximize your damage output, use the following buffs:

    • Golden Vow: Increases attack and defense.

    • Flame, Grant Me Strength: Increases physical and fire attack power.

Gameplay Strategy

The strategy with this build is straightforward and effective:

    • Buff Up: Use Golden Vow and Flame, Grant Me Strength before engaging in combat.

    • Apply Poison: Quickly apply poison or rot to your target using your primary weapon.

    • Kick and Detonate: Use the Poison Flower Blooms Twice Ash of War to leap into the air and slam down on your target, detonating the poison or rot for massive damage.

    • Repeat: Continue applying poison and detonating it with kicks to maintain high damage output.

Demonstration and Effectiveness

To illustrate the power of this build, let's look at a practical demonstration. When facing an enemy, apply poison with a couple of hits from your Venomous Fang. Once poisoned, use Poison Flower Blooms Twice to leap and slam down, causing a significant burst of damage.

In testing, I've seen this build hit for 6K to 10K damage depending on the target and situation, making it extremely effective against both bosses and regular enemies.

Acquiring the Gear

    1. Poison Flower Blooms Twice: Found at the Ravine North Site of Grace. Head south slightly to locate a pool of rot with a beetle. Defeat the beetle to obtain the Ash of War.

    2. Poisoned Hand: Located in the First Legacy Dungeon in Bellat. Find the sewer key halfway through the dungeon and use it to unlock the well near the starting Site of Grace.

    3. Divine Bird Warrior Greaves: Farm Divine Bird Warriors at the Ruar Ruins, starting from the Church of the Bud entrance.

    4. Shattered Stone Talisman: Found in the Moth Ruins. Look for a fallen house under an archway and drop into a hole to find the Talisman.

Conclusion

This triple-status build centered around the Poison Flower Blooms Twice Ash of War is not only powerful but incredibly fun to use. The mix of poison, rot, and bleed creates a dynamic and engaging playstyle that can handle any challenge Elden Ring throws at you.
