Diablo II: Resurrected – Budget Uber Smiter Build Weapon Showcase
Please keep in mind that this guide is not meant to prove which one of the choices is better over the others, as each player has their preferences, play styles, and priorities within their builds. Some may prefer a safer run, while others desire to go all-in, shield swinging, and try to overwhelm and overpower the Ubers. Also, depending on one's wealth or RNG in the game, not all of these may be viable choices for every player.
Even though these are going to be budget items, some players may not have found these yet or may have traded them without considering their use for a budget Uber Smiter. I have three different weapons that I wanted to showcase in this article. With each weapon, I will quickly show the D2R items gear and additional stats. Feel free to pause and review any particular details for yourself.
First Weapon: Heaven's Light
The first weapon I will discuss is Heaven's Light. Heaven's Light is a great option for this budget build when running through the Ubers to obtain a Hellfire Torch. This weapon shouldn't be too difficult to trade for, especially for those playing online.
Gear and Stats Overview:
• Weapon: Heaven's Light
• Additional Gear: Guillaume's Face, Duress, Gore Rider, Dracul's Grasp, Highlord's Wrath, Raven Frost, Dwarf Star, Thundergod's Vigor, and a rare resist shield.
• Charms: Resistance and life charms to balance survivability.
• Key Stats: Crushing Blow, increased attack speed (IAS), life leech, and resistances.
This combination of gear allows for effective Crushing Blow and survivability during Uber runs.
Run Analysis:
During the run with Heaven's Light, the Crushing Blow provided by the weapon, along with the additional Crushing Blow from Guillaume's Face and Gore Rider, significantly aided in taking down the Ubers. The increased attack speed from Highlord's Wrath and the resistance provided by the charms and gear ensured a smooth and relatively safe run. This build is a solid choice for players looking to balance damage output and survivability.
Second Weapon: Black (Runeword)
Next, we have the runeword Black. This weapon was suggested by Small's Gaming, and I have used it before in a budget Uber Smiter build without any set or unique items. Although my previous attempt with this weapon did not turn out as well as I had hoped, this run aims to redeem that effort and showcase the true potential of Black.
Gear and Stats Overview:
• Weapon: Black (Runeword: Thul + Io + Nef)
• Additional Gear: Guillaume's Face, Duress, Gore Rider, Dracul's Grasp, Highlord's Wrath, Raven Frost, Dwarf Star, Thundergod's Vigor, and a rare resist shield.
• Charms: Resistance and life charms.
• Key Stats: High Crushing Blow, increased attack speed, life leech, and resistances.
The Black runeword provides an excellent amount of Crushing Blow, making it very effective against high-health bosses like the Ubers.
Run Analysis:
The run with Black demonstrated its capability as a budget option. The Crushing Blow from the weapon and the gear allowed for quick takedowns of the Ubers. The resistances and life leech provided a decent level of survivability. Although not as smooth as the run with Heaven's Light, Black proved to be a worthy budget weapon for this build.
Third Weapon: Flesh Render
Finally, we have the unique Flesh Render, suggested by another player, Aaand, who noted its Crushing Blow and the potential to socket it with a Shael rune for increased attack speed (IAS). This suggestion flew under my radar, as I had not considered using Flesh Render before. It turns out to be an interesting and viable option.

• Weapon: Flesh Render (Socketed with Shael rune)
• Additional Gear: Guillaume's Face, Duress, Gore Rider, Dracul's Grasp, Highlord's Wrath, Raven Frost, Dwarf Star, Thundergod's Vigor, and a rare resist shield.
• Charms: Resistance and life charms.
• Key Stats: Crushing Blow, increased attack speed, life leech, and resistances.
Flesh Render offers a good balance of damage and speed, making it a versatile choice for the build.
Run Analysis:
The run with Flesh Render was impressive. The Crushing Blow combined with the increased attack speed provided by the Shael rune allowed for a quick and efficient Uber takedown. The survivability was on par with the other weapons, making Flesh Render a strong contender for budget Uber Smiter builds. This run highlighted the versatility of the build and the potential of unique items that are often overlooked.

In conclusion, each of the three weapons showcased—Heaven's Light, Black, and Flesh Render—proved to be viable and fun options for a budget Uber Smiter build. This guide wasn't intended to declare one weapon superior to the others but rather to highlight the different choices available for players.
