Top 10 Favorite Items in Diablo 2: Resurrected
Today, we're diving into my top 10 favorite items in Diablo 2: Resurrected. Now, these aren't ranked in any particular order, and some of you might disagree with my picks. But these are the D2R items that have brought me the most pleasure throughout my years of playing Diablo 2. Let's get started!
1. Breath of the Dying
This is one of the most iconic items in Diablo 2. I prefer it in a Berserker Axe for its fast attack speed and cool appearance, but I first got mine in a Colossus Sword. The moment I acquired a Breath of the Dying, I felt like I'd reached a godly state. Its massive mana and life leech, high damage, and all-attributes bonus make it an ideal weapon. Plus, the ethereal base with its transparent look adds a unique aesthetic. The 50% chance to cast Poison Nova on kill is just icing on the cake, making it a visually impressive and highly effective weapon.
2. Griffon's Eye
Griffon's Eye is a GG (godly) item, especially for my favorite character, the Javazon. With its lightning skill damage boost and lightning resistance reduction, it turns your Amazon into a lightning fury machine. Whether you're clearing the Den of Evil or the Cow Level, Griffon's Eye maximizes your damage output, making you feel like Thor. The combination of faster cast rate and skill bonuses also makes it a versatile item for other builds, adding to its overall appeal.
3. Silkweave Boots
Many might overlook Silkweave Boots, but they're a personal favorite of mine, especially for the Javazon. The boots offer mana per kill, which helps solve mana issues for characters like the Sorceress and the Javazon. Coupled with Insight on your mercenary, these boots help maintain a steady mana pool, allowing you to keep casting without interruption. The added run/walk speed and max mana are also great bonuses, making Silkweave Boots a practical and underrated choice.
4. Tyrael's Might
Tyrael's Might is more of a collector's item due to its rarity. Despite not being the most powerful armor, its aesthetics and practical stats make it a favorite. With no strength requirements, it's accessible to any level 84 character. The added run/walk speed, damage to demons, and all resistances are great, and they cannot be frozen mod frees up a ring slot for other powerful items. While it could use a buff to compete with top-tier Diablo 2 Resurrected runewords, Tyrael's Might remains a coveted piece of gear.
5. Enigma
Enigma is a game-changer. The ability to teleport without needing to be a Sorceress transforms your gameplay experience. The +2 to all skills, faster run/walk, and significant life and mana boosts make it a versatile and powerful armor. Whether you're a Sorceress, Javazon, or any other character, Enigma's teleport ability and other bonuses make it an essential item for end-game builds. The magic find bonus also adds to its appeal, helping you find more loot as you zip around the map.
6. Infinity
Infinity is another transformative item, particularly for lightning-based characters. The Conviction aura it provides breaks most lightning immunities, allowing you to clear areas like the Chaos Sanctuary with ease. Coupled with Griffon's Eye, Infinity maximizes your lightning damage, making you feel unstoppable. I remember the satisfaction of finally crafting an ethereal Great Poleaxe Infinity—it wasn't the best choice, but it looked cool and got the job done. Infinity's ability to enhance your damage and lower enemy resistance makes it a must-have for many builds.
7. Phoenix Monarch
Phoenix Monarch stands out for its Redemption aura, which replenishes your life and mana as you kill enemies. This shield's enhanced damage, fire resistance, and maximum resistance make it a powerful choice. For Javazons, the enhanced damage applies to your single javelin throws, adding even more power to your attacks. I love the visual of my character surrounded by the Redemption aura, constantly sucking up the souls of fallen enemies. Phoenix Monarch is a practical and visually satisfying shield.
8. Shako (Harlequin Crest)
While not the most exciting choice, Shako (Harlequin Crest) is undeniably effective. The +2 to all skills, huge life and mana bonuses, and significant damage reduction make it a staple for many builds. Finding a Shako early in a ladder season can greatly enhance your character's survivability and power. It's a reliable item that never disappoints, and its practicality ensures it remains a favorite for many players.
9. Death's Fathom
Death's Fathom is a top-tier item for cold Sorceresses. The boost to cold skill damage, along with faster cast rate and resistance, makes it an essential item for maximizing your cold spells' effectiveness. Coupled with gear that lowers enemy cold resistance, Death's Fathom can turn your Sorceress into a devastating force. Its rarity and power make it a highly sought-after item, providing a significant boost to your cold damage output.
10. Crown of Ages
Crown of Ages is a versatile and powerful helm that provides resistance, damage reduction, and +1 to all skills. Its socket options allow for further customization, making it adaptable to various builds. Whether you're looking for survivability or enhancing your damage output, Crown of Ages offers a solid combination of stats. Its rarity and utility make it a valuable addition to any high-end character build.
